My youngest daughter Sara was getting married on Saint George Island and she said it would be neat if I would dress as a Pirate, we laughed and I  told her that I didn't think they made Pirate clothes for "Large" people. She kept bringing it up until one day she said that  she wanted me to dress up, not just that it would be neat. So I went online and did some searching and found that they did make  Pirate clothes for "Large" individuals, so I bought some clothes and accessories from different places to complete the outfit.

About a week before the wedding I got to thinking, just what would the grandkids think of grandpa dressed up like a pirate. I  started putting together some ideas and about 4 days before the wedding I started writing in the evenings. I actually finished and printed it at Loni's house on the trip down to Florida.

I let Kris and Loni read it to see what they thought and then Brandi and Sara when we got to Florida. Then the night before the  wedding when we were putting Aidia and Lili to bed, Sara, Brandi, Loni, Debbie and about 5 other of their friends came in and we  all sat on the beds, chairs, and the floor while Kris read the story. Lili and Debbie fell asleep about half way through ( it  had been a long day ) but when it was over Aidia said it was "better than Harry Potter", everyone laughed. So I dressed up as a  pirate for the wedding the next day and it went over well and made for a fun memory that the kids talk about still. They call me  Captain Grandpa every now and then. Lili has this audio version on her iTouch and still uses it when she is not with us and  wants to have Grandma read her to sleep.
